APRIL 11, 2008

My name is Bob, I'm in Douglas, MA, welcome to my website.

My father used to work at Data General, (now owned by EMC), after he left, he worked out of his house selling and servicing computers. Mostly PC's and Data General computer equipment. Every week DG had auctions and he would buy "lots" with all sorts of various computer equipment. I found lots of 8088 computer boards along with 80186, 80286, 80386, 80486 boards and chips. I've even found one INS 4004 D cpu and I'm pretty sure he has a few more.

Now that gold and platinum are  going through the roof, we decided it would be a good time to do some spring cleaning, and make some money in while we're at it. I'm in the process of sorting through the 50 or 60 boxes he has collected since the 80's. There's even a few boxes from the 70's.

Here's a sample of the chips I pulled off the boards:

I'm told that many of these chips are collectibles. I don't know much about computer chips, but I'm learning fast. I just listed what came off the oldest boards or what looked interesting. I have a lot more that I will be listing on this web page as the weeks go by. I'd appreciate any advice you may have, like "these chips are a dime a dozen, scrap 'em for the gold", or "this web page sucks, I can't find what I'm looking for".....seriously.

I also have about 10 "DG One" laptops. Many people believe it was the first true laptop, (read the article on the DG One laptop page), and I've had that verified by 3 other people from my ebay listing. It runs DOS and it has the 8088 cpu.

I  have some old books and manuals including the elusive "Captain Zilog" comic. I have many other components such as hard drives, floppy drives, power supplies, fans, a/b switches, batteries, etc. for PC's and laptops that I haven't listed, but let me know if you have an interest. This webpage is a work in progress so it will be updated on a weekly basis.

COST and PAYMENTS

Everything on this website is for sale. I'm not yet sure how much this stuff's worth but let me know if you're interested in anything I have and what you think it's worth and we can come up with a fair price. Of course, if you buy more you'll probably get a better price. If you find a chip that sold on ebay or another website,  I'll match it or beat it. There will be a minimum order of $20 just so I'm not wasting my time finding tiny boxes and running to the post office for peanuts. I will only charge you the ACTUAL shipping cost in addition to your order. I will accept PAYPAL, (rjkiley2@yahoo.com), cash or check, (will have to wait to clear). If you want to use a credit card you will have to open a Paypal account, (it's very simple).
